The Legislative Involvement Committee is charged with monitoring government affairs as they relate to the engineering profession and to the welfare of the public and the environment. The Committee:

• scrutinizes proposed legislation and alerts the membership of proposals that concern the practice of professional engineering.
• reviews new regulations, as proposed by state agencies, that concern the practice of professional engineering.
• presents testimony at legislative hearings, as directed by the Board and the membership.
  
• sponsors Section members' attendance at the annual ASCE National Legislative Fly-In event in Washington, D.C.
